When is a good age to switch from a crib to a toddler bed?
My son is going to 1yr old this month. He's already learning how to climb on everything! He can climb on the couch, up the playpen, and the other day I saw him trying to climb up the crib rails. My worry is that he'll climb out in the middle of the night and get hurt. I have the crib lowered as far as it will go. I know he's not ready for a toddler bed yet, so any suggestions from any mothers who have experienced this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
in my opinion, it isnt an age thing, it's more about when they start showing signs they are ready. since your son has become quite the climber, I'd give it a shot! you need to stay consistant and patient. my son is 18 months old and not ready for a bed yet. i tried the transition and he just played and played. i threw in the towel, laid him in his crib and he fell right asleep. lots of moms tell me to make the transition a big deal. give the bed brand new fun bedsheets!
